I wanted to install my bumper myself. By being able to piece part this one on, I could break it down into smaller chunks. I like the looks of a lot of other bumpers that are out there. But those cost $1200-1500. This one is much cheaper and provides the nice option of the storage bumper ends.
My critera was 1) fog light integration. 2) recessed winch plate. 3) D-rings. 4) nice tube winch protector available. 5) skid plate option. 6) option of installing auxiliary lights. This solution provides all except the auxiliary light mounting locations. But this can be "worked-around". The skid plate option for this bumper also doesn't mate to my liking or provide true protection.
This one meets all on a budget price. If you want to go on the cheap, this is the way to go. It looks great and is high quality too.
In retrospect, I'd probably have gone with the Off Camber solution and spent the additional $$$. But the storage bumper end sections make me teeter back and forth. The storage option is really cool and convenient.

Easy to install and good price. I like the options available to customize it and you can use fog lights. That was a deal breaker on a lot of other bumpers. I have a winch, my stock fog lights and the "hoop" so far. The coating on it is textured and it almost looks like fiberglass IMO - we'll see how it holds up against the elements during the winter here in AK.

This bumper was great to install. I am certain that it took more time to remove the factory bumper than it did to install the Rugged Ridge bumper. Great value for the price, had no problem installing a winch (12,0000# CSI). My wife, father and I installed the bumper and it went so fast. A word of advise though, if you have an over head lift/hoist or a cherry pick use it! The bumper, winch and storage ends added up to some serious weight. we used two of the four 8mm holes on the top of the bumper (one on each side) as an attaching point for a cable w/ a pulley, we then used an over head chain hoist to position the bumper assembly into place. It worked like a charm and saved our backs and my marriage. All in all i could not be more happy.

The XHD (Extreme Heavy Duty) Short Base comes in two designs; Integrated Winch Mount for use with almost any aftermarket winch (including the new Warn Power Plant with optional mounting blocks #11540.15) and Light Mount Base with two light mounting locations.
