Its a solid toaster in many aspects. Like the title states it seems to be well made,and insulated, the outside doesn't get hot. The crumb tray is easy to empty, and the unit is simple to clean. Some reviewers didn't like the cord in the center of the back, however for my uses its perfect.

And most important it makes great toast. It cooks evenly and consistently on bread, waffles, and bagels. Knowing what I know now I would buy this product again.

This toaster is good. It doesn't get as hot as our last Kitchen Aid toaster when toasting but that just means I turn it up more. The best thing about this toaster is that unlike most toasters it does not get hot on the outside while toasting it stays the same temperature the entire time.

Bought this toaster to replace the silly toast/egg maker thing I purchased some years ago at another place.

I feel like I was living in the fool's paradise of toast, because THIS toaster is amazing. Even, many settings, reliable, very solidly built, and not a bad price here at Amazon. The bagel button is clever because it shows you how to align the bagel, cut-side in. This is because the bagel setting will toast the cut side more than the round side. Cool!

I had tried a Black and Decker digital toaster, and the one time I used the raise-toast feature, the plunger wouldn't go down again to toast the bread. That one went back.

The quality of this machine is obvious when you touch it. Typical KitchenAid quality. :)
